Synopsis/Details
In the eerie depths of the Holloway House, a team of elite ex-military operatives known as Echo Team is summoned to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a group of Navy personnel who ventured into the house weeks prior. The team, led by the seasoned and pragmatic REYNOLDS, consists of the burly breacher TORRES, the tech-savvy KING, the grizzled medic SILVA, and the deeply religious sniper PREACH. They are approached by CLARA HOLLOWAY, the estate's owner, who reveals the house's dark history and the chilling tales of those who have entered but never returned. Clara's brother was among the missing, and she believes the house is not merely haunted but predatory, feeding off the fears and regrets of its inhabitants. As the team enters the decaying mansion, they are immediately struck by its oppressive atmosphere. The house seems to breathe, shifting and reshaping itself as they navigate its dark corridors. Strange occurrences begin to unfold: whispers echo through the halls, shadows flicker in the corners of their vision, and the team members start to experience vivid hallucinations tied to their past traumas. Preach, in particular, is haunted by the memory of his deceased wife, while King confronts the ghosts of his fallen comrades. The house feeds on their guilt and fear, revealing their darkest secrets and regrets. The tension escalates when the team discovers a hidden basement filled with jars containing preserved organs and remnants of past victims. They realize that the house is not just a structure but a living entity that remembers and manipulates its inhabitants. As they delve deeper, they encounter manifestations of their past failures, forcing them to confront their guilt and the consequences of their actions. The house's malevolent intelligence becomes increasingly apparent, as it tests the team's resolve and unity. In a desperate bid to escape, the team devises a plan to destroy the house from within. They set explosives in the heart of the mansion, but Clara, now revealed to be a part of the house's dark history, intervenes. She sacrifices herself to the entity, believing it will end the cycle of violence and suffering. The team races against time to escape as the house begins to collapse around them, the walls screaming in protest. In the aftermath, the surviving members of Echo Team emerge from the ruins, bloodied and traumatized. They are left to grapple with the memories of what they have witnessed and the lives they could not save. As they attempt to return to normalcy, they realize that the house's influence lingers, haunting them in ways they cannot escape. The film closes with a chilling reminder that the past is never truly buried, and the echoes of their experiences will follow them forever.

The Writer: Gary Rose

I’m an optioned screenwriter who, in a previous life, served as a police detective, mastering the delicate art of negotiating hostage situations. Retirement led me down a different path—teaching and writing—a journey that began with my first non-fiction book, which became an Amazon best-seller. That success ignited my passion for storytelling and introduced the world to my indomitable protagonist, FBI agent Jeannie Loomis. Believing that the ends justify the means, Jeannie has become the heart of a gripping 16-novel thriller series. My historical fiction script The Beautiful Beast was selected as a quarter-finalist in the 2025 PAGE competition. The Phantom Train script was selected in 2024… Go to bio
