Ike

Ike is not a superhero and IKE is not a superhero series. IKE is a drama. Is five days in the life of depressed 21-year-old Isaak, who day in and day out tries to become stable again, to get solid ground under his feet. To think positively.   It is autumn, autumn 2021. It is gray, cool, distant. The world is still there, it still exists, but all the people on it have noticed in the past months what change really means, really feels like.   The streets are emptier than usual, the neon billboards full of hope, uplifting words and guilty consciences. It's not post-apocalyptic, it's much more real. The leaves of the barren green spaces have fallen. Thin, bony, sad branches hang down lifeless and alone. Signs in the shop windows, permanent push notifications around us and unfriendly, uncertain, frightened faces keep exhorting us to control, strict guidelines and all-consuming paranoia, despite vaccines.   The mood has changed, the people have changed. Bad, depressed. Introverted, dark, gloomy, isolated. It is hidden and covered up. Those who have to be outside try to paint a smile on their masks, or quickly go their own way in line behind the dominating distance. It has become a sad time. IKE is the story of a nice young man struggling to survive in his gray big city. Is the story of a character who has ended something and must start again. A weak figure who is alone, who is sad, who is powerless. It is the story about a man who does his best, but always seems to run into those walls. Until one night he discovers something unknown, something not of this world, in his Highrise backyard. Touched it. Changes. Changes Ike´s entire life, the lives of his family, his colleagues, everyone on earth. IKE is the story of a young man who was chosen to destroy the earth and could do nothing about it. Again can do nothing. Again can not be a man. It is the dilemma of mankind, on the shoulders of a weak individual. The apocalyptic end, introduced by a desolate dude who really wanted nothing more than get through his dreary, gray day quickly. IKE is a drama full of silence, isolation, soliloquies and crushing emotions. It's eschatological and quiet. It's not a superhero story. It's just the story of a man who came into contact with an alien by accident.
