Synopsis/Details
This is an extremely low budget short film that could be very easily filmed with only one actress and two bobblehead dolls (preferably in the shapes of Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute from "The Office", but any two male bobbleheads would do). It takes place entirely in one location, a psychiatrist's office, and it revolves around the idea that relationships shouldn't just be each partner always agreeing with the other, regardless of the situation. There's an underlying subtext or layering that the world always seems to view women as the submissive partner and the male the dominant one, and I wanted to flip the script on that and show what it feels like from the other side. The ending may throw some people -- it's a little bit over the top -- but again, there's subtext there and a flipping of the script. Where women are constantly viewed as objects of sexual desire, this gives the woman the opportunity to utilize the man for her own needs. This is a script to be completely fun and over the top, but a slight social commentary added to it.

The Writer: Gary Howell

I'm an attorney by trade, but a writer at heart. I have written several shorts, and I am currently involved with a feature that I have worked on the past year that is now in development, with an Australian director at the helm. I have had three short films produced, "Country Road 12" that stars Dee Wallace ("E.T.", "Poltergeist"), "Skip," and "Study Date." I also acted as an executive producer on a short, "Clean Slate." I have also co-written one dramedy, "The Journeyers", that was optioned with Josh Monkarsh of Traffic City Productions, and is in development. I have one drama pilot, "Bounty," about a Texas bounty hunter, which recently had a table read done by television actors, and is in… Go to bio
