Synopsis/Details
In the future, will humans be a compassionate, tolerant race or will we continue to fear anything that is different? Cyborn takes the latter approach and explores what might happen once artificial intelligence reaches the sentient stage; a theoretical advancement scientists refer to as the Singularity. In this story, Cyborn Industries are the ones to first crack the A.I. conundrum. The first successful prototype is Braxx Dryden, an android who has a human-like appearance but with a distinct plastic glean. Fast-forward a few decades, Braxx has evolved to the point where he has an artificial wife and adopted a human son, but the human race has stubbornly clung onto its bias. A cyber revolution has ignited a wave of violence against artificial life and Braxx has been caught in the middle. Severely damaged, his battery has less than three minutes remaining. He barricades himself in an old, abandoned church. Using a set of worn dice, he selects random memories to relive. Here we see a glimpse of his creation and evolution. As his power fades and the mob breaks into the church, it looks like it is all over for Braxx. However, we then get a glimpse of something which suggests Braxx may have evolved far more than anyone suspected.
