Synopsis/Details
"Family Abuse" centers on Carl, a man in his early thirties battling a history of drug and alcohol addiction. He's married to Nikki, a strong-willed woman who has endured his past struggles, and together they have an adorable six-year-old daughter, Young Tamara. Carl, a recovering addict, relapses after a night of heavy drinking, causing distress to his wife, Nikki, and young daughter, Tamara. He promises to change, but the temptation of his past lingers. Ten years later, Carl and Nikki seem to have a stable family life with a now-teenage Tamara. However, Dominic, Carl's former drug dealer, re-emerges, offering Carl "new stuff" with "no side effects." Despite initial resistance, Carl succumbs to temptation and takes a bag of heroin. Tamara accidentally ingests the heroin, leading to her falling into a coma, shattering the family's fragile peace. Nikki blames Carl, driving him to despair. Carl, consumed by guilt and rage, confronts Dominic, leading to a violent confrontation where Carl kills Dominic and his henchmen. Returning home, Carl is overwhelmed by his actions and the pain he's inflicted. He injects heroin and, in a moment of despair, commits suicide, with Nikki discovering his body.
