Synopsis/Details
Magnus Thorson, a grim, middle-aged mariner, prepares to fire a massive harpoon from his heavily modified tugboat in the Norwegian Sea. From behind an iceberg, a high-speed rigid-hulled inflatable boat races towards the tug with Camille, a fair-haired young woman, driving and Enzo, a fellow activist, beside her. A huge spout up ahead convinces them Thorson must be after the entire pod while a blue whale’s head lashed to the side of the tug oozes blood into the water. When bullets fired from the deck of the tug tear into their boat, Enzo pleads with Camille to give up the chase. But as Thorson turns to avoid an iceberg directly in his path, Camille slams their boat against the tug at full speed, forcing the tug to collide with the iceberg and sending Thorson toppling over the rail and into their boat. Camille tells Thorson she won’t let him butcher another whale, but he is no whaler. From out of the icy depths emerges the colossal head of Jörmungandr, the Midguard Serpent.
