Synopsis/Details
Stefan, free-spirited paraglider pilot, rides the thermals over the Australian countryside while yelling at the top of his voice. He’s as free as a bird! That is until a huge wedge-tailed eagle swoops in and shears through his canopy with its razor-sharp talons. Hurtling towards a steep cliff face, Stefan drains the contents of a small medicine bottle, intent on going out on a high. He smashes against the cliff, his harness disintegrating on impact, and wakes to find himself dangling upside down. The draught saved him from instant death for although he can barely move, with his heat rate slowed, he could hang on for days until help arrived. Then he’d be free, as free as a bird! It’s then he sees the huge wedge-tailed eagle’s nest below him occupied by two hungry chicks and lined with human skulls and bones. Perched on a nearby ledge, the mother eagle brings her hooked beak to Stefan’s exposed belly.
