Synopsis/Details
Freddie and Jane are off to the country for a couple of months—Freddie to write his second children’s book and Jane to accompany him. The idyllic setting does wonders for their emotional life and all is well.
Soon, however, a mysterious young man—Lawrence—walks his way into their holiday set-up. He says he lives on a farm on the other side of the field. He is also covered in bruises that he says are the fault of his father, who gets drunk and stressed and takes it out on him.
Freddie and Jane are sympathetic at first but Lawrence’s sporadic visits begin to wear them down and his slightly off-the-wall behaviour turns a little dark.
