This is ONE short story from a TV concept series I wrote based on my collection (Peek-A-Boo) The concept is a sketch show using short ghost / horror stories of various types & lengths from 5 minutes up to feature length. Not Long For This World;
A 14 year old has a part time job as a 'lab rat' for a mad professor who thinks the world's consumables problems will be solved if everyone was smaller. He sticks the kid in a radiation proof box. In a massive cock-up of polarities, instead of bombarding the kid with radiation he bombards everybody else in the world. The result is everyone shrinks to 20% of their original size. The kid is the only survivor. He can save the world by reversing the polarity but chooses not to. Instead he declares himself king and starts to have fun with all those he didn't like before they shrunk, in particular his woodwork teacher that gave him a bad mark for his homework. He makes him dance on a hot griddle plate for fun.
