Synopsis:
The LAW is carrying out an ethnic cleansing campaign against the English. The combined forces of the police, army and special branch (SO55) are fighting a losing battle to contain the campaign. One Sunday morning a man is given a letter from the LAW ordering to leave Wales taking just essentials. Rather than let them have the home he loves he decides to burn it down but is caught doing this by the LAW thugs. They execute him in a gruesome way.
Jane Cassidy, back from convalescence after being shot by the LAW, is the DS assigned to investigate. She receives a mysterious phone call telling her to go to an address where she finds evidence of the abduction of a top LAW man, the youngest son of the LAW Commander Brynley Close.
Under torture the abducted man gives the kidnappers details of where LAW bank accounts can be plundered, and a second man, the LAW’s banker, is then kidnapped. The LAW leader’s son is found in a hospital car park drugged & branded, with his leg in plaster. Close’s oldest son attempts a rescue but the leg cast is booby trapped & explodes killing them both. On her way to the scene Jane receives another mystery call diverting her to Borth, where she finds the banker in a submerging car, handcuffed to the dashboard. She rescues him and takes him to the hospital, but in a failed LAW attempt to rescue him he is assassinated. Another call tells Jane where the money can be found. She contacts Vicky Brannan, a computer expert, who agrees to hack LAW’s computer to find the money. This she does, but also finds heaps of data that expose the LAW as criminals.
