Synopsis/Details: 

After fighting a nasty war, homeward-bound veterans on a space-going carrier receive a cryptic mayday from a freighter carrying badly needed technicians and supplies. Racing to the last known location, the fleet encounters a planet drifting in deep space that holds something horrible that knows neither mercy nor pity. The arrival of aliens focused on their own mission complicates the rescue effort and raises the stakes and the costs to the soldiers.
