No matter how hard Mika tries to win her father’s approval, the relationship deteriorates even further. Fifteen years later, Mika is in college on a track scholarship to run the 400-meter dash. After winning a small race, Mika receives attention from her father for the very first time and concludes that her only chance to obtain his love forever is by winning an Olympic gold medal. Desperate to succeed, Mika takes performing-enhancing drugs, qualifies for the Olympic trials and subsequently cheats her way into the Olympic finals. On the big day, Mika indeed wins the gold medal and everything else she dreamed of. But on the night of the medal ceremony, Mika’s inner pride turns into shame. The world is shocked as she takes off her gold medal and steps down from the podium. In a heartfelt speech, Mika appeals to millions of people around the world and admits her wrongdoings. Mika’s conscience is clear again and her father repents in an unexpected way. – What good is winning when you lose your heart?
