Synopsis/Details
TOM, an ambitious boxer who suffered an abusive childhood, carries with him a lot of bottled up anger. During an altercation with a drunken acquaintance, Tom snaps and enters the “Hate Gate” where he discovers his seemingly unlimited punching-power fueled by rage and hate. Having recognized this source of power, Tom resolves to become the next Heavyweight Champion of the World. His violent and impressive journey to the top can only be stopped by TANK, a natural born killer with an even greater capacity for hatred. Tom suffers a devastating loss and becomes suicidal. Just in the nick of time, an unorthodox female boxing trainer who has had a near-death experience, picks up Tom and tells him that only a boxer who fights out of love will be able to defeat Tank. Tom enters a consciousness-raising journey that includes painting, meditation and metaphysical thought. A year later, a changed Tom engages Tank for a rematch. As Tom is losing again, he resorts to his old ways of hatred and anger, but those false friends are impotent against Tank’s onslaught. As he hangs on to his last shred of consciousness, Tom reaches deep within to find that his newly-acquired enlightenment is indeed the key to slay the dragons of fear in his heart.
