Synopsis/Details
A group of strangers ride the NYC subway late at night. A disparate group from all walks of life - including James (the businessman), Kelly (a party girl), Candi (a transgender from the East Village), Ramon and Malik (two thugs from the street), a homeless bum and Maria - a pregnant woman in her last trimester, who speaks only Spanish. It's the Christmas season, yet tensions are high: there's a terrorist alert in effect. There's an explosion in the tunnel, under the East River. The roof collapses - killing Malik, and trapping the rest of the riders inside. Hearing screams, they manage to break through to the next car. It's most crushed but there's one survivor: Bishan Singh, hovering over the body of the dead conductor...and clutching a turban in his hand. Faced with isolation and the threat of starvation, the survivors fight to find a way out of the car...while still fearing the dangers outside. Unstable rock conditions, rising water. Unidentified smoke surrounds the train - which may or may not be poisonous. Bishan claims to be a Sikh, but seems to be keeping secrets to himself. Tensions rise between James and Ramon. Then explode when Maria goes into labor. Even if they can survive the situation - will the group survive each other?
