The onset of a deadly plague in modern times - that's led to some riveting Film and TV. Think Outbreak. Children of Men. Contagion.
But now imagine that, with a unique and politically poignant twist.
Meet Kevin and Monica Clark - a happily married (and interracial) couple living in NY. Professionals at the top of their career game, Kevin's a reporter for the local news. And Monica's a curator at the Museum of Natural History. What makes this happy family complete are their three children: Tianna (Monica's daughter from a previous relationship), and their two boys - Jayden and Darren.
Things seem to be working out at home. But not as smoothly in the outside world. There's political problems everywhere you look: ongoing racial riots downtown, conflict between the new President and the ambitious Speaker of the House... and then there's the Flatlin Commune: a fundamentalist cult causing problems, too.
But when a strange deadly flu hits the Northeast, things are about to get... far worse. Especially when it's realized it's victims appear to be a specific racial "type."
Kevin, Monica and the children flee for their lives. But there's no outrunning the new Energen Plague... until they find out how it's spread. And why.
