Synopsis/Details
Imagine an editable magical map that can transport you anywhere in the world, but the results of these alterations not only manifest on the map itself, they transpire in the real world too. THE CARTOGRAPHER tells the story of ALEX stumbling upon ownership of the map and trying to reverse the consequences of ripping off the war-torn country his father is deployed at or risk losing him forever. With ripping the map being the only edit that is irreversible, Alex frantically travels the world, with his friend and the previous Cartographer, with the map to try to bring his father back while learning what it means to protect family. It builds to a climatic twist when his jealous friend, DEIGO, steals the map away from Alex for his own personal goals, no matter how dangerous the effects may be to our world. It's Jumper meets Jumanji.

TheBlackList on The Cartographer:
"The father/son theme that exists throughout the script is heartwarming and endearing. A superb job is done in creating this theme throughout all of the relationships in original and creative ways. There is also an ample amount of humor throughout that keeps the audience engaged. The script adheres to proper plot structure format which allows it to move along at a brisk pace without being burdened by too much exposition and dialogue. The character of Vaughn is complex and intriguing. His friendship with Alex goes through a nice catharsis as the script progresses and their paths cross in ways that neither could have imagined. Alex himself is a very empathetic young man that the audience gravitates towards and it is because of him that the audience allows themselves to fully invest in the storyline."
