The Void

THE VOID A driving instructor Dave(35) and his wife Jane(35) move in next door to a taxi driver Frank(40) and his wife Kim(35). They are two semi detached houses. Kim starts driving lessons with Dave, after a bad experience with a previous instructor. They soon begin an affair, as does Jane with Frank. After Kim passes her driving test, She and Dave plan to murder Jane and Frank in a game of bondage. After murdering Jane, and Frank they wrap the bodies in plastic. The same night Dave and Kim build a false wall creating a void. They place the body’s in the void along with their suitcases containing their clothes and I.D. The day after the next day Dave reports to the police. Detective William’s(40) and Detective Jackson(50) He tells them he woke up to Find Jane gone along with a suitcase, and clothing. She left her phone behind. They return with Dave to his house. Upon seeing them Kim comes out, and reports Frank’s gone as well. The detectives check over both houses, gardens, and sheds. William’s notices fresh sawdust on the floor of Dave’s shed. The detectives leave with Frank and Jane’s phones. They return with the phones a few days later to find Kim in Dave’s house. She is taking calls for Dave’s driving school. Forty years later detective William’s(80) moves into a care home. An estate agent arrives at Dave and Kim’s houses, she notes from the dividing wall that one living room is twelve inches shorter than the other. The two houses go on the market. Dave and Kim now (75) move into the same care home. Dave and Kim are introduced to former detective William’s (Bob) They don’t recognize him, but he remembers their names. A new owner buys both homes, and knocks through the dividing wall, he does not discover the body’s of Frank and Jane. When Bob discovers the homes have been sold to one owner, he pays the homes a visit. The new owner invites him in after Bob told him of the history. At the dividing wall the owner believes the false wall was insulation against noise. Bob has a MEMORY FLASH the fresh saw dust in the shed. Bob returns to his old police station and speaks to detective Peterson(50) and detective James(30) He tells them he believes the taxi driver, and the instructors wife are in the two sides of the remaining wall. They Get a search warrant, then discover the body’s, and suitcases after breaking open the wall. The estate agent sees the discovery on TV. The next morning at the care home Dave and Kim are discovered dead, they had taken their own lives. At the cemetery there is a single grave stone with their names on it. Bob stands their looking at it with a V.O.
