Finished posting two scripts here on Script Revolution, posters and all. Big happy sigh. I still have one more to go, but it's headed for the back burner, so I can actually work on a new screenplay.
Well done Barry. I sent a 40 page draft with parts that read "need to add stuff here". The producer said it was amazing and he loved it. So I need to find a second storyline to weave in and explore the other side of the themes in the story. If I can get it out to 90 pages by mid may I am okay. Based on the script in its current form they are location scouting.
Only possible because I have an existing relationship.
Author of a faith-based "true crime" book I really loved is excited to have me working on a script for it! Tho there's still some rights-issues that need to be investigated (a tv-movie detailed said events 20+ years ago).
Eric - Ya! It involves the faith of one victim (+ their family) of a serial killer & some of the faith-positive developments that occurred as consequence.
You guys really impress me! You're also inspiring--with everyone always emphasizing the odds against success, you and others over on Scriptfella tell me: Don't listen to that crp.
I recently approached a film company headed by an Emmy-winning maker of historical documentaries (who also works on the fiction side of things) with an idea for a story about an infamous, though now forgotten, ancestor of mine from the War of 1812, and as a result we are now readying our pitch to funders. So there is a fair chance I am about to co-produce (and appear in) a film.
Carol one of my great grandmothers was born in Plattsburgh, other relatives in nearby towns, e.g., Isle La Motte. But my infamous relative was from another family branch originally from Connecticut and Massachusetts (where I was raised).
I talked to the folks who did a table read of my screenplay Death's Brother and discovered that the first person chosen to play the lead was so disturbed by the part that they backed out of the role. Fortunately the guy who stepped in was awesome and a righteous dude to boot.
I considered that a great compliment. It's a psychological horror script, I intend to disturb you!
This is the first time I've done this, but I just sent out a cold email query to an actress who would be right for the lead role in my new script and she agreed to read it! She's not a big name but works steadily as an actress and model.
Eric, that's exciting! It sounds like you got a pretty quick response, which is encouraging. Thanks for sharing--every little "win" counts. Fingers crossed for you!
I'm no fan of competitions. But, thought I'd send one in for the fun... Nashville Screenwriters Competition just informed me that my short. Stay Awake Mary, made quarter finales! - Cool, I hope it advances to semi? You can read the script on my profile page if you like.
I saved $150 on makeup by switching to face masks.

Lily - That does become less of a success if Geico sues you for catchphrase infringement. lol jk
Carol - Awesome! Good luck on the new project!
Derek, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. ;)
Sold a short script for $200 :-)

Barry - Pretty awesome $$$ for a short! Was that via SR?
Craig - Once I inserted "GREAT STUFF WILL GO HERE" for personal use. lol
Well done, Barry. Very much looking forward to hearing the details and seeing your first IMDb credit.

Faith based true crime is an interesting combo, Derek.

The director of my script 'Five Below' has started recruiting cast ... :)

Nice going, Barry.

Awesome and exciting! Good work!
I'm originally from Plattsburgh NY, where an 1812 battle was fought. The house next door to mine had a cannonball stuck in an interior wall.

I need to delete this. It's an accidental posting.
Rad, Eric!
Well done. I should link to your comment people ask "how do I sell my script?". You write something good and find an audience for it.
Got read-request for animated script via VPF written pitch.

Great work, Eric. I have tried some targeted queries so it's good to see they can sometimes get traction.
Great news Eric. Well done and kudos to you for being proactive.
Good luck Eric! I remember reading that Dan on S32 did a similar thing with Judy Norton from The Waltons.
