Synopsis/Details
F.A.C.E. delves into the lives of three interconnected souls in Detroit, each grappling with their own definitions of love, loyalty, and self-worth. The story opens with Alicia's (V.O.) philosophical musings about stars and second chances, setting a spiritual tone. We are immediately introduced to Ebony, a proud homeless woman, as she is cruelly cast out of a liquor store by the owner. Shortly after, a heated argument between Shaleta and Kris erupts, leading to Kris throwing Shaleta's clothes out the window. Ebony, observing from the alley, witnesses Shaleta's vulnerability. Their paths cross, and Ebony offers Shaleta a diary, hinting at a shared past and a path to change, though Shaleta initially dismisses her. We also see My'Sean, who still carries a torch for Shaleta, subtly trying to reconnect with her, only to be met with her loyalty to Kris. Shaleta, shaken by Kris's continued disrespect and infidelity (evidenced by his encounter with Carol), begins to internalize Ebony's words. She seeks out Ebony, and they share a meal, initiating a bond of friendship. During this conversation, Ebony reveals the tragic death of her best friend due to domestic violence, a past that mirrors Shaleta's situation and underscores the urgency of her escape. Meanwhile, My'Sean, witnessing Kris's abusive behavior and his continued manipulation of Shaleta, confronts Kris, leading to a violent brawl.
