Synopsis/Details
Gorman Gates is afraid of everyone except his beloved crazy psychologist, Dr. Jan, and screen actress, Laura Laughlin, the only other woman he sees on a regular basis via her television series. Dr. Jan schemes to get Gorman to leave the home where he lives with his parents to spend a month on Martha's Vineyard. While there, he makes friends with the local characters despite his best efforts to avoid people. When Gorman is anxious, he makes up lies that lead him to adventures that he never would have signed up for on his own. Laura Laughlin is vacationing there with her family and boyfriend. Gorman schemes to meet her at this favorite coffee shop and tries to win her over though everything goes haywire before his efforts win her over
